Lots of Pictures

8 Jan

Gianna has been learning to cook.

These are recipes from our local Hyvee free magazine that is included once in a while at our grocery trip. She uses a lot of dishes. I try to hand wash them as she is cooking as part of my supervision. Whew… A lot of dishes! But it’s good for her and both recipes were semi-diet and delicious.

I finished yet another pair of slippers,

I hate that gray yarn. It needs to be used up but it’s awful to work with. The stitches would even up nicely if the slippers were soaked and blocked. They are “spare slippers” for when ours need washing. Dan also needs a spare pair. He says these are the best slippers he’s ever owned. Compliments like that get you more knitted items!

I 3-plied the Shetland yarn that I spun earlier this week.

This is the most consistent spinning and plying I’ve done so far. I have cream and brown in this yarn at about the same weight. I see some item combining the two in my future.

Finally, I’ve been keeping records of my spinning on these index cards I found in a drawer.

I think this helps with seeing my progress and seeing how the yarns compare in thickness and quality.

Next up? A slouchy hat.
