Mia’s Cowl Is Finished

Mia’s cowl was finished last night. The pattern is “Double Moss Stitch Neck Warmer” by Scottie Santiago. It’s a free download on Ravelry. The yarn came from a lambs wool Goodwill sweater. I held it double. It’s wider and longer than the pattern calls for and when worn, you can flip down the edge closest to your face a bit for a different look. I really like it. Gianna wants me to give it to her instead of Mia – of course. But when I said no, Gianna said it was too itchy for her liking and could I make one for her out of cashmere instead. Smart girl. Knows her fibers.

What’s next? Gotta work on the boring self-striped socks. They are almost done. I’m ready to commit to another sweater. I think I’ll make a version of “Buttonbox” by Elizabeth McCarten. I like vests for a change, but I’m not sure if they are “in”. When do I ever wear anything that’s in style anyway?
