Do you see it on the right side of the picture?

It was so vivid in person – one of the brightest rainbows I think I’ve ever seen.  I didn’t have time to get out my book to see how to photograph it best so I just took a gazillion pictures on various settings and hoped for the best.

We had a heck of a storm last night!  Hail and the works!  We were at the park starting the second inning of our softball game when the lightning started.  We just got to the cars when the heavens opened up and it poured.  It was short lived though so within an hour it had cleared up and this beautiful bright rainbow appeared.

This morning on my walk it was just the most perfect weather.  The wind was blowing gently and the air had that “after-a-storm-smell”.  Not the “worms-and-dirt-smell” but the clean, fresh smell.  The temperature was in the high sixties.  It was just gorgeous!  It felt like a Wisconsin morning from my childhood vacations.

Just one of those “Wow – what a great day!” moments…

Worms-n-dirt smell :-] I know just what you’re talking about! Did you ever tell your kids about the nightcrawler hunting we used to do?
