A Beret

29 Dec

I knitted up this beret last night.

It’s blocking over a plate right now.  The pattern is beautiful!  It was SOOOOO easy to knit up.  It’s a pale purple color.  It’s for my oldest daughter.  I made it “not too slouchy” because I didn’t have enough yarn to make it slouchy.  🙂  I want to see if it fits her and if she likes it before making the actual hat.

The pattern is a free download from ravelry.com and is called “Meret” by Woolly Wormhead.

My two daughters and I are boarding the train this afternoon to head to Chicago for some shopping and fun.  We are staying overnight and then heading back on the train tomorrow.  We are staying right on the Magnificent Mile.  Gianna has on her list of things to do:

  1. Ice skating in Millennium Park.
  2. A horse drawn carriage ride.
  3. Buying and eating roasted chestnuts from a street vendor.

Mia has nothing special on her list.  She wants to eat at Ed Debevicks.  (I have no idea if that’s spelled correctly)

I don’t like to shop but am anxious to see the window decorations and see the city at Christmas time.
