I have very little time to sew during the week because of that nonsense called WORK and the other nonsense called KIDS’ ACTIVITIES. Sheesh… Both of those things really suck up my free time!
Since I need to feed my sewing addiction on a daily basis ( so I don’t kill or maim above work people or kids), it becomes necessary for me to “kit up” projects for during the week. For this week, I cut enough fabric for two blocks for my latest Scrap Squad quilt top and laid them out next to my sewing machine.

With the fabrics laid out, I can sit down and sew for even 15 minutes at a time and feel like I’m accomplishing something.
I only have two blocks ready to go this week but if I run out of sewing I can always spend a few minutes kitting up more or sewing mindless strings for the plaid quilt or even hand piecing hexagons. Always something prepared and ready to go here.
Hey! With 36 pieces in each block, doing two of them is an accomplishment!
Nice kitting! Kudos to you because that normally is not your style.
What are you saying Sister Dear? That my style is “messy, messy, messy, let’s wing it”?
Yeah, that’s still my style. But I have a deadline and that makes me more orderly. Stop me when I get too much like you and your clone – my 11yo daughter!
